The Golden 8 occurrence is located between Harris and Renfrew creeks, at an elevation of approximately 650 metres.

The area was mapped by Muller (Geological Survey of Canada Open File 821) as primarily diorite of the Mesozoic and/or Paleozoic Westcoast Complex. An east trending band of limestone is also mapped. Volcanics of the Lower Jurassic Bonanza Group lie to the north.

Locally, a sulphide-rich magnetite body is hosted by intrusives. In 2013, a sample (J677970) assayed 3.0 grams per tonne silver, 1.81 per cent copper, 0.135 per cent cobalt and 33.2 per cent iron.

Approximately 180 metres to the south, massive magnetite is hosted near a mafic dike or intrusive contact. In 2013, a sample (J677971) assayed 49.8 per cent iron (Assessment Report 34699).

In 2013, Le Baron Prospecting completed a program of prospecting and rock sampling on the area.
